The province of Bohol is located in the Central Visayas region. The island has a coastline of more than 260 kilometers and a number of other islets around it. Bohol is surrounded by neighboring provinces of Cebu, Leyte, and the region of Mindanao. With a land area amassing more than 1,500 square miles, Bohol is considered to be the tenth largest island in the Philippines, with Tagbilaran City as the province’s main capital. The province of Bohol is a prime tourist destination in the country, where tourists go to view the famous Chocolate Hills and the indigenous tarsier, the second smallest primate in the world that is known for its distinctively large eyes. The Chocolate Hills, nicknamed because of the brown color it takes on, is one of the Philippines’ major attractions. Another tourist attraction in Bohol is the majestic Loboc River, one of the four main rivers that run through the province.

Bohol also houses some of the country’s premier beaches and luxury accommodations. Panglao Island is the main tourist destination, where white sandy beaches dot the island coast. The fine white sands are often compared to the white beaches of Boracay. Other islets surrounding the main land also have untouched and pristine beaches.

Located in Panglao Island just off the coast Bohol, the Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa’s 16-hectare boutique property is a luxury getaway for travelers who value peace and privacy. The exclusive resort has a uniquely Filipino design with 15 villas each with individual water features, a private beach, and Handuraw Spa where guests can be pampered. Guests can stroll along the white sands and lush gardens, go scuba diving, use the infinity lap pool or simply relax all day. There is also a private helipad for those wishing to travel there by a more direct route.

Set atop a beachside cliff, just a few steps away from the white sands of Alona Beach in Panglao is Amorita Resort. 97 accommodations including suites, villas and deluxe rooms offer a mix of views from the breathtaking ocean to the well-kept gardens of the island. All rooms are natively designed using local products to create a classic yet modern ambiance. Other facilities offered include an infinity pool, all-day-dining restaurant Saffron, dive shop and massage treatments, available for in-room service. A perfect getaway for a quiet holiday away from the busy city lifestyle.
